Last week our class had a wonderful time going to Dania Home in Burnaby. Students were able to enjoy a presentation by Mike’s Critters, and sing some of our songs from our Multicultural evening. Here are some pictures from our trip!

Cultural Celebration
April 2, 2012 by kalcock · No Comments · Uncategorized
Our Annual Cultural Celebration is coming up April 27th! If you have never been before, this is an enoyable event that you cannot miss out on! You will leave with a full heart… and stomach!
Come enjoy entertainment from the children at Cornerstone Christian School, and wonderful cultural food! There will also be silent and live auction items, with money going towards 10 new computers for our computer lab!
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the school office.
If you, or someone you know, can bring a silent auction item or a cultural food item, that would be greatly appreciated!
Can’t wait to see you there!

Our class had a wonderful time on our field trip to Science World! Students learned so much about the world around them, and had a great workshop about sound! I am looking forward to teaching about sound next term, and seeing how much the students remembered from the field trip!
Here are a few photos from our trip!
Love
February 7, 2012 by kalcock · No Comments · Uncategorized
With Valentine’s Day approaching, the Lord has been really speaking to me about Love (and I must say His timing is always perfect!)
In 1 John 4, we are told that love is from God. I love how it says that “since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” There are times in my own life I find it difficult to “love” someone, but the Lord always reminds me that He loves them, so I need to do the same.
This is a topic we discuss in the classroom as well. The Lord loves each of us equally, so we need to display the Love of Christ to everyone.
I am so thankful for the Love that the Lord has for me, even when I make mistakes!
So keep these words in mind, to love one another, as Christ has also loved us!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Welcome back to 2012!

Dear Parents,
It is so great to be back in the new year! It has been wonderful to see your children’s smiling faces again!
Just a quick note, due to an unfortumate accident with some hot tea, I no longer have a computer in my classroom! I will do my best to update posts on the blog, but completing the Weekly Academic will prove to be a challenge. I promise to figure out a solution to better assist you with classroom communication!
I still have email, so please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns! I am also available after school if you have some time to pop by!
Looking forward to a wonderful and blessed New Year!

Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe the last week of school is upon us! I feel so blessed to have the freedom to use the word Christmas at our school, and share with the students the reason for the season!
On Friday December 16th we will be having a class party. Your child is welcome to bring something to eat or drink to share with the class.
Blessings this Christmas Season!

Service Day

We had an amazing Service day today! Our grade 3/4 class went to Sherwood Crescent Manor and Maplewood House to sing to the seniors there.
It is so nice to share the joy of the Lord with the staff and residents, and to hear them singing along!
Here are some pictures with a few students from our class at Tabor Court last week.
Field Trip to Tabor Court

Hello Parents!
I was just informed today that our class will be going on a field trip to Tabor Court on Monday from 10:40 – 11:40.
We will need at least 4 parent drivers who can take at least 3 children. I will send a notice home tomorrow, if you can return it Monday morning that would be wonderful!
